Initiatives by Vaishali Gupta

In 2020, Vaishali Gupta started much talked about initiative called One Teacher One Scientist. This is an initiative which is very close to her heart and is aimed to bring about a change in the way children learn by supporting and empowering teachers, parents, grandparents and almost anyone who plays a role in a child’s life. Through various programmes, workshops and products, One Teacher One Scientist is reaching out to various communities and empowering them to align teaching and learning processes with the needs of the 21st Century.

Since it was the most unfortunate time when the Covid pandemic hit the world, as an educationist she saw the impact it would have on the overall schooling of children. She created her very popular Bridge programme called SLATE ( Simple Learning Activities to Think and Empower) to take activity based learning to children from marginalized communities. This programme has helped bring as many as ten thousand plus school drop outs and out of school children back to mainstream schooling. The programme is successfully running in several parts of India.

In 2021, she was also actively involved in supporting the students of Deakin Business School Australia, by supporting students of the University under their ‘SDG focused internships across borders’ programme. Post COVID, she also curated a mega festival on Education called RISE ( Re Imagining School Education) on Global Citizenship in Indian Schools. This festival was in collaboration with Alliance Française de Delhi and was highly successful in its first year itself and was supported by UNESCO MGIEP, UNICEF, Prabha Khaitan Foundation, ABP and SPIC MACAY. The success of this especially curated event by Ms Vaishali Gupta has now made it into an annual event.
